Life Membership


New and Emerging Professionals Award

This award recognizes leadership, growth, and outstanding potential of a professional working in any area of student affairs and services for less than 5 years. 

Eligibility:

Current CACUSS membership

Award:

Plaque to the recipient and letter to recipient's supervisor, VP/Dean and/or president of the institution.

To nominate: 

A nomination letter indicating the contributions of the individual, with examples of what makes this new professional stand out in our field.

Leaders in Learning Award

This award recognizes outstanding individual contributions to professional development activities (e.g. online course, conference presentation, workshops etc.) and/or service to a Community of Practice.

Eligibility:

Current CACUSS membership

Award:

Plaque to the recipient and letter to recipient's supervisor, VP/Dean and/or president of the institution.

To nominate: 

2 letters from colleagues, supervisors or CACUSS leadership outlining the contributions that the individual has made and the impact on the Association as a whole.

Student Leadership Award

The Student Leadership Award is designed to recognize outstanding contributions of a student, potential for a future career related to student affairs and to encourage participation and engagement by a student leader in the annual conference.

Eligibility:

Nomination letter of support must come from a current CACUSS member.

Award:

Framed certificate to the recipient and a fee waiver for the student registration at the annual conference. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the nominating institution/department.

To nominate:

A letter indicating the impact that the student has had on his/her institution, campus community, and fellow students and how s/he might benefit from participation in the confernence.

Innovation Award

The Innovation Award recognizes a new or innovative program or service on a campus that has been developed with participation or leadership by a CACUSS member insittution or individual. 

Eligibility:

Nomination letter of support must come from a current CACUSS member. 

Award:

A plaque and a letter to the recipient's immediate supervisor and the VP/Dean or President of the institution. 

To nominate:

A description of evidence of impact of the program or service on students, the campus community, or a department must be outlined.

Nancy Torbit Memorial Award

This award will be presented in recognition of significant achievement and distinguished contribution to the development and promotion of health and wellness. This annual recipient will be an active CACUSS member who participates in the Student Health community whose accomplishments may include (not limited to) attendance at and participation in the CACUSS conference, facilitation of workshops and presentations, service to the Student Health community.

Eligibility:

All members of CACUSS

Award:

plaque and a letter to the recipient's immediate supervisor and the VP/Dean or President of the institution. 

To nominate:

A letter outlining the contributions of the nominee. Selection will be made by members of the community of practice representing Health and Wellness professionals.

Student Leadership Award for Student with Disability

-Provided by Microcomputer Science (pending funding approval)

This award is presented to a student with a disability who has shown exceptional leadership and/or made an exceptional contribution that has enhanced the quality of life for students with disabilities on his/her campus or in the community. This award is generously funded by Micro Computer Science Centre 

Eligibility:

Student with a disability with written support from a member of CACUSS.

Award:

$500 and plaque and a letter to the President of the institution.

A letter outlining the contributions of the nominee. Selection will be made by members of the Access and Inclusion community of practice.
