By-Law Review and Canada Not-for-Profit Act

In 2011, the Canadian Government replaced the Canada Corporations Act with a new act which governs all non-profit associations in Canada. As part of this new legislation, all 19,000 charities and non-profit associations in Canada had to review and resubmit their by-laws and articles of continuance (Letters Patent) no later than October 2014.

Task Force

As such, CACUSS struck a "By-Law Review and Canada Not-for-Profit Act Task Force" as of September 2012 to engage in the process of reviewing our by-laws and completing the process of being compliant with the new act.
