Oliver’s Pub and Grill (2nd Annual Kara-o-CACUSS Charity Event)
1ST floor, UC, Carleton
Unwind with fellow colleagues with this opportunity to carry on the beloved Kara-o-CACUSS tradition: to sip, socialize, and sing for a good cause! We ask that attendees donate what they can at the door to support this year’s cause, Shinerama (see description below).
Shuttles will be available at the beginning and at the end of the event to transport attendees to and from Olivers. For those taking public transit, take the #7 direction Carleton from Rideau Centre stop on Rideau Street; allow 40 minutes of transit time.
ABOUT THE BENEFICIARY
Shinerama is a cause close to Carleton staff and students. Whether it be for a loved one with Cystic Fibrosis, to bond with new students or expand on their leadership skills, Shinerama kicks off every year around fall orientation in an effort to make a difference in the lives of those battling cystic fibrosis. Over 35,000 student volunteers from 50 Canadian universities and colleges across the country come together every year to support the cause. Student volunteers all over Canada are shining shoes, flipping burgers, washing cars and doing whatever it takes to raise crucial funding to fight cystic fibrosis. This national event puts the “fun” in fundraising!
There will be outdoor access to the patio. There are semi-quiet spaces outside of Oliver’s for those who wish to exit the karaoke area. For those who wish to find quiet space, we recommend taking the stairs (just outside of Oliver’s) or one of the elevators to the third or fourth floor of the University Centre, where you may be able to find seating. Please see a Carleton staff member if you require directions. A Muslim Prayer Room and a Multi-Faith Prayer room is housed on the second floor of the University Centre Building. The Muslim Prayer Room is open 24h per day.
Includes vegan, vegetarian, and halal options. Table service and bar service available.
