2020 CACUSS Conference Update

March 30, 2020

The CACUSS Board of Directors met on Friday, March 27 and made the decision to postpone the 2020 CACUSS Annual Conference scheduled for May 31-June 3 in Toronto.

This is the first time in our 47-year history that we will not be gathering in person as an Association to connect, share knowledge and support each other. This decision was particularly difficult for us when it feels like we need connection more than ever.

If you are a currently registered delegate and/or a presenter for the conference you will receive separate communications this week regarding your options and next steps. Please wait for that separate email for how to proceed.

We now move forward with anticipating you will join us in Fredericton, NB from May 30-June 2, 2021 for next year’s conference. We are hoping we will return to Toronto in 2022.

We want to express our SINCERE THANKS to our institutional partners here in the GTA for their support and leadership.

  • Centennial College
  • George Brown College
  • Humber College
  • Seneca College
  • Sheridan College

Also, we are standing on top of our office chairs waving arms and shouting out praise to our outstanding volunteers involved with our Program Committee and sub-committees for all their input, hard work, and contributions to shape our conference. We know and appreciate the emotion and time you invested in helping us plan this event. We share your disappointment in not being able to celebrate a successful conference together.

Annual General Meeting

CACUSS will continue with our scheduled Annual General Meeting on May 21, 2020. The AGM for our 2nd year will be held VIRTUALLY. To register to participate in the AGM please click here.

Awards and Recognition

One of the significant parts of the Annual Conference is recognizing and celebrating our colleague’s accomplishments with Awards and Recognition. At the time of this decision we have not yet determined how we will do this but will be in touch in the coming weeks to plan a celebration together.

Last but not least we encourage all of you to connect with our valued sponsors.  We are hoping we can work together to make future events a success and that they will miss out on the opportunity to connect with you this May. They are important partners for all of us to work with.

CACUSS is working to continue to find ways for us to learn from one another in different ways in the coming months, including sharing some of the presentations that we were looking forward to at our conference.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we made this difficult decision. We hope you, your families, and your colleagues are keeping well.

If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.
