 Student Housing Operations Specialist

Regular, Full-time

 

As part of our student housing team the Operations Specialist will work at our Cranbrook Campus.  In January 2021 we opened 5 new buildings that have the capacity to house an additional 100 students.  The housing buildings are located just steps from the main campus with the buildings bordering the Cranbrook Community Forest and spectacular views of the Purcell mountains.

 

Duties: Reporting to the Manager, Student Life, the Housing Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the day to day coordination of student housing operations including occupancy software and access systems.  This position, in cooperation with the Student Housing Coordinator (SHC), will provide direction and support to the team of Community Leaders, Student Opportunities staff and the Student Housing Assistant.  The incumbent will act as the first point of contact in the Student Housing office and will provide administrative support for events, training and projects that will create a safe and positive living environment.

 

Qualifications: A diploma in business management, humanities, student development or related fields with a minimum of 2 years’ experience with administrative responsibilities in a college or university residence. A minimum of 1-year experience related to conflict resolution and problem solving. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Employment is conditional to possession of a Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License, confidentiality agreement, and a criminal record check.

Salary: CUPE Pay Level 5 ($43,145 - $51,561 annually). The College also offers a comprehensive range of benefits.
