Ancillary Services operates undergraduate and graduate student housing on the St. George campus. Our residences include Graduate House and Chestnut Residence, with two new residences currently in development: Sussex-Spadina, and Harbord Residence. Ancillary Services’ residences provide programming and services designed to foster personal growth and maximize the potential for student success.

Working under the general direction of the Dean of Residence & Director, Residence Life, the Admissions and Communications Manager (ACM) is responsible for managing the admissions process and ensuring that residence occupancy and revenues are optimized during the academic year, and summer months, at both Chestnut Residence and Graduate House. The ACM is responsilbe for setting the rate strategy for the summer business operations that includes short term stays, group bookings and summer students. The individual works closely with the summer business team to manage occupancy and client stays during the May-August period. The ACM works in consultation with the housing management teams at both Chestnut and Graduate House to develop marketing and communication strategies and materials to promote awareness and interest at both residences.

The Admissions and Communications Manager is also responsible for hiring, leading, and managing staff to ensure an exceptional admission process for residence applicants as well as summer guests, and that communications and promotional materials are compliant with AODA standards and are impactful. The incumbent provides the necessary training and mentorship to ensure departmental standards and procedures are understood and consistently met.

Knowledge of StarRez, or equivalent residence application and admissions software is required. Experience with hotel/summer occupancy operations and software (e.g. Opera) are strong assets.
