Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, Students, the Executive Director, Student Academic Affairs provides strategic and visionary leadership to a range of departments, programs, and committees that focus on student academic support and success and the student learning journey, while also leading and contributing to institutional initiatives which advance student progress, retention, and success.


• Master’s degree. LL. B, or J.D
• Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to the portfolio
• Minimum of seven (7) years of senior leadership experience in a post-secondary environment
• Proven ability to develop, monitor, and evaluate organizational plans
• Proven ability to engage in critical thought and data analysis to inform strategic planning, goal setting, and program evaluation and assessment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including teambuilding and developing collaborative relationships
• Excellent written and oral communication, delivered in a manner appropriate to the audience
• Proven ability to set goals and achieve them
• Experience writing and administering policy
• Demonstrated knowledge of post-secondary students, including subpopulations within, and their academic success and support needs
• Demonstrated ability to model appropriate professional, ethical, and collaborative behaviors that engender collaboration, trust, and respect consistent with the responsibilities of this position
• Strong understanding of the professional standards for providing service and support to all students
