Posting Details
The College of Arts invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in University Studies. The successful candidate will teach first-year University Studies courses and provide leadership in curriculum design, pedagogy, service learning and student development. The candidate may also teach one or more upper-level courses in career and portfolio development.

The successful applicant will have experience in student development instruction, international student engagement, administration, or equivalent experience; demonstrated excellence in post-secondary teaching; a commitment to Indigenization; a commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and learning; experience facilitating learning communities, experience teaching international and first-generation learners; and strong communication and administrative skills, including skills in collaborative leadership.

Experience or research expertise in post-secondary student engagement, learning strategies, and internationalization or international study/teaching is an asset. We particularly encourage applications from scholars with experience of racialization or colonization.

Applicants will have a record of research productivity commensurate with their experience; demonstrated ability to establish a successful research program; and an ability to incorporate their research into learning opportunities for students.

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to program administrative support, departmental activities, service, events, and initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a PhD, or equivalent specializing in Educational Studies (with a concentration in Higher Education, Learning Strategies, Student Affairs, or Adult Education) or a doctoral degree in an area closely related. Candidates who are enrolled in a doctoral program and can show evidence of imminent completion will be considered. In addition, demonstrated excellence in post-secondary teaching; curriculum development; a commitment to Indigenization; experience working with diverse learners; and strong communication and administrative skills, including skills in collaborative leadership, are required.
