An opportunity now exists to lead the Student Success division overseeing development of strategies, programs and broad initiatives aimed at promoting student success and wellbeing. This role has been established to oversee the areas of Student Access & Wellbeing (Counselling & Student Development, Student Health Services, and Accessibility Services), Student Life, Student Housing, Student Financial Aid & Awards, and Workplace Education (Co-Op). The role is responsible for the Institute’s response to serious student crisis situations and managing the non-academic student conduct issues and investigation of allegations. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Students.
The successful candidate will bring a solid record of increasing responsibilities in the post-secondary sector with experience in planning, implementing, and advocating for a wide range of programs in student services including programs and broad initiatives aimed at promoting health and wellness. This individual will have budget, financial management and strategic planning experience and bring knowledge and experience in all aspects involving a strategic commitment in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Experience in working with a diverse community and a total commitment to equity and inclusiveness, with a strong ability to lead change and innovation will be key.
The Senior Director, Student Success role demands a clear vision, application of sound judgement in problem solving and significant expertise and leadership skills. As this is a high-profile role with significant stakeholder interaction at all levels of the organization, the candidate must demonstrate an ability to thoroughly consult, build consensus, communicate effectively and provide outstanding service through the effective leadership of a diverse team.
