Now, on behalf of Centennial College, we are recruiting the Director, Student Success – Process Integration & Quality Assurance, to join their growing organization. Reporting to the Registrar, The Director, Student Success – Process Integration & Quality Assurance is a senior leader in the Enrolment Services (ES) portfolio and within the Student Experience and Success (SES) division (with responsibilities extending to the Student Life, Engagement, and Development [SLED] portfolio). The role is positioned to enable SES to deliver on the College’s 3-year and 7-year strategies by ensuring that a robust and responsive infrastructure exists to drive strategy and monitor delivery, coordinate operations, and enrich planning through data analysis and forecasting. As such, the Director has oversight of project coordination; assessment and evaluation of engagement, experience, and learning outcomes (quality assurance); financial, physical, and human resource management; and administrative support functions – all key for lean and intelligent operations. A weekly combination of work-from-home and on-campus work can be discussed for this role.

Responsibilities will also include:

• Work closely with colleagues in Corporate Planning, Financial Services, and Information Technology Services to ensure a seamless integration of the budget and finance activities for the Division.
• Work with staff, managers, and directors across the Student Experience and Success Division to prepare the annual operating budget
• Monitors program recruitment budget expenditures for the Student Experience and Success Division; analyze and assess financial risk before implementing the recommended changes in the plan as approved.
• Prepares and presents a quarterly budget review, ensuring compliance with institutional regulations, highlighting risk areas, and making recommendations.
• Providing controller-level management of strategic and ongoing financial activities of the Division with the discretion to develop, recommend and implement strategies
• Developing and ensuring financial planning and reporting systems are in place
• Planning and managing the business operations of the Division’s Capital Requests to support ongoing operations, academic requirements, and new initiatives.
• Develops and continuously improves business operations and services in response to the changing needs of students, technology changes, and evolving institutional priorities.
• Manage the process of conducting research, design thinking approaches, and quality assurance through integrated and robust qualitative and quantitative assessment, analysis, and sharing of findings in ways that result in SES Division programs, activities, and services that continuously enhance the educational experiences of a diverse student populationLiaise with Academic Quality Assurance to ensure actions fall within the parameters of the College audit and compliance requirements for provincial reporting purposes.
• Documents records of quality assurance assessment, reviews, outcomes and recommendations.
• Interact clearly, constructively and positively with all SES departments to ensure projects are completed effectively and within budgets
• Evaluate projects and provide recommendations to address issues or opportunities to improve completeness or performance going forward.
• Responsible for project oversight as it relates to budgets and general project expenses.
• Serves as a member of the Enrolment Services (ES) leadership team to contribute to oversight of operations and strategic direction; works closely with the Dean of Students, Registrar, Directors and Managers to ensure a coordinated, realistic, and deliverable set of targets, that are broadly communicated, and planned for.
• Aligned with the College’s mission, vision, and values, as well as divisional and corporate business plans, and in partnership with other senior leaders in the Division, oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of an integrated strategy and set of operational targets for the functional areas in the portfolio.
• Oversees and directs initiatives that significantly impact the corporate revenue stream, customer-facing functions, and/or critical internal functions.

Ideal candidate skills & experience:

• A Master’s degree in a related field, and/or a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, Chartered Financial Analyst designation would be considered an asset
• Completion of PMP (Project Management Professional) would be considered an asset
• Sound project management skills with the ability to plan and coordinate multiple project/work initiatives effectively simultaneously
• A minimum five years of financial management experience with proficiency in managing budget and budget processes, developing financial forecasts/projections/analysis, and developing/implementing appropriate financial control/reporting to properly undertake the substantial financial operations of the Division.
• Exceptional abilities to design assessment and evaluation frameworks (qualitative and quantitative) that measure and enable continuous improvement of engagement, experience/satisfaction, and learning outcomes related to student success.
• Experience overseeing design thinking approaches to understanding user journeys would be considered an asset.
• Experience leading collaborative projects and committees, including establishing foundations for their operations (e.g., accountability maps, information sharing, etc.).
• Superior knowledge of operations management
• Effective leadership and supervisory skills.
• Sound project management skills with the ability to plan and coordinate multiple short-term and long-term project/work initiatives effectively simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment, in a collaborative and collegial manner, using highly developed relationship building, influencing, and negotiating skills to secure commitment and achieve results
