The Director, Student Affairs puts 'students first' by providing strategic direction, vision, and leadership for student development, career services, Experiential Education, residence life, campus climate, student conduct, crisis intervention, accessibility, well-being and counselling. By building strategic partnerships with units on both of York University's campuses, the incumbent facilitates and promotes the integration and awareness of evidence-based and theoretically informed student development and well-being theory and practice at the Glendon campus to improve student success and strategic enrolment management and retention.
PLEASE NOTE: This position requires bilingualism in English and French
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
Graduate degree in related field of Management, Education, Student Affairs, Conflict Resolution, Human Resources, Social Work or related field and additional certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution and crisis or trauma response is an asset.
5+ years of team building and management experience in the postsecondary sector, preferably in student-facing roles providing strategic and administrative leadership for several functions related to student development and well-being simultaneously and in alignment with broader divisional and University objectives and under pressure of resources and competing deadlines. Experience dealing with critical incidents. Project management experience, including the development of dashboards with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
