This position contributes to the retention, satisfaction and success of IEP bridging students by providing superior service to IEP students. This position provides student services that contribute to academic success and readiness towards relevant careers. Under the direction of Project Manager and together with the Faculty Lead and other IEP team members, creates a student-centered welcoming environment that addresses the needs of IEP students, provides information and general advocacy to assist with student success, measuring and monitoring student's achievements during and after completing the program. Maintains contacts and interactions with students when they have finished the program to track their career successes. The Student and Alumni Coordinator will support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration and continuous improvement, embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
A University degree and two years' related experience in a University supporting mature students or community services environment for Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs). Experience providing information on areas including program course planning, course registration or employment search related issues, familiarity with student or IEP needs, experience interpreting and applying complex policies to processes, assessing and updating student academic or client records, coordinating engagement activities (e.g. mentorship, internship, networking events, etc.), in a student service area at the University or non-profit organization.
