To advance the Division of Students’ vision as ‘Partners in Student Success’, the Manager, Student Financial Processing (SFP) leads a team of SFP Assistants and the delivery of financial processing services, that are exceptional, student-centered, and responsive to the needs of York University’s diverse student population.

The Office of the University Registrar (OUR) provides services to all York prospective and current students supporting their interest in the institution, through recruitment, admissions, all registrarial functions, grades, academic standing, financial aid support, student services, student systems through to graduation. The OUR has a unique opportunity to provide high-level, student-centered service from a student’s first interaction with the University through every step to graduation.

Under the direction of the Director, Student Financial Services (SFS), the Manager, SFP will be accountable for the success of unit-specific operations, work processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. The primary function will be to manage and facilitate the administrative processes for student financial aid applications and student account activity.

The Manager, SFP will lead a team of Student Financial Processing Assistants (SFP Assistants) and promote a student-centered environment to support student financial accountability and, financial literacy. As a key collaborator and partner, the Manager, SFP will build strong relationships to ensure financial service processing aligns with the service and operations of partner units within the OUR, most notably, the Student Support & Advising (SSA) unit. The Manager, SFP requires a student-focused professional who shares and lives the divisional values of Courage, Connection, and Empathy. The Manager, SFP works in close collaboration with other teams across the university to provide excellent financial processing services to all students.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or another directly related field.
- A CPA designation would be an asset.
- 5 years minimum related experience including 3 years of managerial experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment, with extensive experience working with a high volume of client and account information on large online databases.
- Management experience in a minimum of one of the following areas preferred: student accounts administration, and/or financial aid processing or program administration.
- Experience in financial management, and a demonstrated understanding of budget development; billing operations, collections, grants and loans.
- Supervisory experience in a unionized environment.

- Strong financial management skills and the ability to manage funds effectively from a variety of sources.
- Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and the Divisional values of Courage, Connection, and Empathy.
