The Manager, Student Engagement and Retention is responsible for developing, enabling, and implementing a comprehensive and strategic student engagement and retention plan within Lassonde. Together with the Assistant Dean, Students, the Manager is responsible for the intentional development, execution and delivery of student services related to curricular and co-curricular experiential education, student leadership, co-curricular education and training, student clubs, peer helper/mentorship programming, and student support programs with the end result being increased engagement, retention and persistence of Lassonde students. The Manager will work as part of university systems such as retention council working groups, Faculty Council committees, and in collaboration with Bethune College to implement strategic initiatives and interventions with the goal of improving retention and persistence within Lassonde. In addition, the Manager will oversee the Lassonde Student Welcome and Support Centre desk and office and space operations to ensure adequate resources and service excellence are provided for stakeholders.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
A Master's degree is an asset. University degree is required. Education or STEM field preferred. Five years strategic management experience, preferably in a university or post-secondary academic environment) in Student Life, Academic Advising, student recruitment, admissions, or equivalent. Experience in supervision, developing and overseeing strategic plans, and change management. strong leadership, project management and staff management experience.
