STUDENT RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR – Competition Number 17-60R
Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is seeking an engaging individual with strong interpersonal skills to join the Future Students’ Office as a Student Recruitment Coordinator. This is a full-time regular position and will require work to be conducted on a flexible schedule, commuting between campuses.

As a Student Recruitment Coordinator, you will use your dynamic public speaking skills to attract well-qualified prospective students into undergraduate, trades and preparatory programs at KPU. Your experience and knowledge of post-secondary education will be used to provide advising to prospective students on admissions requirements and procedures, university program offerings, educational pathways, careers and more.

The Student Recruitment Coordinator is a professional KPU representative at a wide range of recruitment and community events, developing rapport with the general public by providing prompt and professional service. You will build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as secondary school counsellors, career advisors, school district personnel, parents, businesses and community and settlement agencies.

Internally, this position will act as a liaison with specific Faculties and Student Service units, to provide support for Faculty and program specific recruitment initiatives through targeted outreach and activities. You must maintain a high level of knowledge of KPU programs and courses and keep up-to-date with credit and non-credit offerings, university and program admission policies, tuition fees, upcoming events, and more.

This position reports to the Manager, Domestic Recruitment, and plays a key role in the planning, execution, and evaluation of recruitment and applicant services to identified target markets in a wide variety of educational, community and professional settings in the Lower Mainland.

Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of related experience in client and/or student engagement and advising, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Candidates should demonstrate experience building effective business relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to be flexible in speaking and polished presentation style, to small and large groups up to 100+. Excellent interpersonal skills and interaction with people of various ages, backgrounds, and cultures. Technology savvy with an ability to use CRM systems and social media platforms is an asset. Demonstrated ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner in a demanding, high stress, fast-paced environment over a sustained period of time. Strong understanding of B.C. and other Canadian education systems, and knowledge of training, education and/or job requirements for a wide range of academic, trades and technical careers.
The incumbent must be able to exercise a high level of initiative and responsibility, work independently to establish own priorities and meet deadlines, and also work as part of an integrated team. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in sales, customer service and/or student recruitment. A valid BC driver’s license, and access to a vehicle for work purposes is required. Due to the nature of the work, a flexible schedule is required, including the ability to travel to multiple campuses and across province as well as some evening and weekend work.
