Leadership Educators Community of Practice
The Leadership Educators Community of Practice is a strong, supportive, and networked community of leadership educators in Canada. We share best practices, generate new and innovative ideas, and collaboratively support our emerging professional development needs. We aspire to share research and knowledge between institutions.
The values of the Leadership Educators Community of Practice are: development, learning, connection, accountability, inclusion.
Who is LECOP for?
Students at colleges and universities can develop their leadership abilities and sense of leadership in many different spaces and through many different formal and informal opportunities. LECOP is for any student affairs professional that contributes to the education, training, supervision and/or development of student leaders. This includes, but is not limited to: leadership programs, residence life, varsity athletics, service learning and civic engagement, student governance, campus clubs and organizations, equity and advocacy programs, mentorship and orientation.
The purpose of the Leadership Educators Community of Practice is to:
Create opportunities for engagement, learning, and support between current and future student affairs and services professionals in Canada,
Develop resources, accountability, and networking opportunities for student affairs professionals identifying as or interested in leadership education roles;
Contribute to knowledge, best practices, and research on leadership education; and
Explore and promote collaboration of resources between institutions and leadership education practitioners.
