The CACUSS Institute for Project, Team, and Change Leadership offers a challenging and supportive learning environment for participants to develop as critically-reflective project and people management practitioners within Student Affairs and Services.

Join us in beautiful Kelowna, British Columbia October 19-21, 2020

Over the course of three immersive days of problem-based learning, critical reflection and questioning, peer-to-peer coaching, storytelling, critical debate, and self-directed learning, participants will focus on developing intermediate and advanced skills in the following CACUSS Student Affairs and Service competencies:

  • Post-Secondary Acumen
  • Leadership, Management, & Administration
  • Strategic Planning, Research, and Assessment

What participants will walk away with:

  • A ready-to-implement and comprehensive project, change management, team development and communications plan that’s been vetted by your peers and carefully crafted throughout the Institute;
  • Applicable theories, strategies and professional tactics to all areas of project and people leadership;
  • New and deepened professional relationships with other participants and facilitators; and,
  • A personally, professionally and institutionally relevant learning and development plan and strategy to guide own learning and development over three to five years.

Learning and development before and during the institute:

  • Before: To maximize the learning potential, all participants will be asked to complete a reflection activity and to identify a personally and professionally relevant project that they would like to implement after the Institute.
  • During: Participants will work with each other through experiential modules to develop a theoretically-informed and strategically relevant plan and approach to managing and leading their project.
  • At the end: Participants will submit their plan for peer to peer feedback so that they feel equipped with all the necessary tools to succeed.

After: Participants will be offered exclusive discounts on future CACUSS PD opportunities!

Sunday, October 18

After 3pm: Check into hotel

Monday, October 19

Breakfast on your own in the hotel (included in rate for those staying at hotel)

9:00am - 12:00pm: Welcome, intention setting and community building

12:00 - 1:00pm: Lunch (provided)

1:00 - 5:00pm: Postsecondary organizational theory and leading in higher education environments

David Ip Yam is a higher education professional and leadership educator committed to assisting student affairs professionals like YOU feel energized about your craft, clear about your process, and committed to transformation at the CACUSS Institute. When he’s not working with couples to maximize their relationships through relationshipzen.ca and with families to learn martial arts at mindovermatterkarate.com, he’s providing space for professionals to lead from a place of grounded action, inspiration, and alignment. Registration information

Registration includes all institute materials, meals (breakfast, lunch, and nutrition breaks) for three days.

 

 

 

Early Bird Registration

December 21, 2019 –August 1, 2020

Member: $849 + HST

Non-member: $989 + HST

Regular Registration

August 2, 2020 – October 1, 2020

Member: $949 + HST

Non-member: $1089 + HST

Travel and Accommodation

The Institute will take place at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna, BC. Room rates are $135/night plus applicable taxes. Rooms should be booked by participants/delegates no later than xxx in order to guarantee the rate and space. CACUSS can not guarantee accommodation availability after that date. Rates include a complementary buffet breakfast daily in Vinters Grill from 6:30-9:30. 

To book your room: Contact the Coast Capri hotel Central Reservations office at 1.800.663.1144 or the Hotel Direct at 1.250.860.6060 and quote the Group # CCH-GFC26681 or the Group Name: CACUSS, Canadian Association of College and University Student Services. After September 15 you can call 250-860-6060 (ask for in-house reservations).

Note: Registrants who registered prior to March 15 and who are unable to attend the rescheduled dates will be given a refund if the refund is requested a minimum of two weeks prior to the rescheduled date. 

Cancellation Policy: Event cancellations must be received in writing (via email to contact@cacuss.ca) no later than September 30, 2020. No refunds will be issued if the request is received after September 30, 2020. Cancellations received prior to September 30, 2020 will receive a refund minus a $75 administration fee. Your event registration can be transferred to another delegate. Transfer requests must be received in writing (via e-mail to contact@cacuss.ca). Transfers are subject to a $20 administration fee.
